Certificate in Medical Coding and Billing

Ready yourself for a potential career path in medical office administration and medical billing and coding in 9 or 12 months with a Medical Billing or Medical Billing and Coding Certificate. After completing the 9 month Medical Billing Certificate, students will be trained for basic coding and financial cycle processes as well as increased knowledge of coding competencies used in medical offices and hospitals.

The 12 month Medical Billing and Coding Certificate provides a deep background in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology to prepare students to become successful medical coders. A virtual Professional Practice Experience must also be completed in order to complete the certificate program. This program also includes a student’s 1st attempt at either the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam* by AHIMA or the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certificate exam by AAPC*.

Both certificate options are aligned with the most current legal and ethical standards as well as the latest U.S. billing, reimbursement, and coding standards from the International Classification of Diseases.

*Trident cannot guarantee that graduates of this program will be eligible to take third party certification examinations. Certification requirements for taking and passing these exams are controlled by outside entities and are subject to change without notice to Trident.
